Train Station Parking

In a long letter to the Minuteman this week, Greg Wilczek said "The system is broken," citing the fact that lots of people have parking permits who hold on to them like family treasures on the Antique Road Show for the occasional trip to the station. Meanwhile every-day commuters, denied permits by a waiting line longer than heaven, the DMV and Shaw's combined, go through all manner of inconvenient solutions to get to the train. What's your take on this situation?

Wlizcek did a nice job framing the problem in his LTE and the town has no clue how to fix it nor do they have any plans either. I am surprised nobody is chiming in on this - maybe it's you new policy about posting. One thing is for sure all the promises of the third train station are hollow: it won't fix the parking problems downtown; it won't fix the congestion problems downtown - it's a nice Saturday out today; and I am almost certain when I get dowtown there will be congestion problems and putting people on the trains ain't gonna solve that; and the promises that the third train station will lower taxes or be just tax neutral are the kind of statements only Bernie Ebbers can love.
