Coyotes

We've heard that there have been many sightings of coyotes around town. The Minuteman, in fact, published a full page of photos of a coyote taken by a reader last December. Apparently the animals are still around. A coyote was seen on the Fairfield University campus this morning, and there was another recent sighting on North Benson Road. The many wild turkeys in the area must be a veritable feast for the quick coyote.
We hear from wildlife experts that coyotes don't pose a threat to humans unless — like all wild animals — they are cornered or rabid, but cats and small dogs are tasty morsels for the wily coyote. So when your pets are outside, keep an eye out. Let us know if you have seen coyotes or other wildlife in your part of town.

I haven't seen any coyotes around Fairfield but i am sure they are here. Years ago they used to inhabit a golf course nearby which I played on occasion... maybe we could round them all up and take them up to Smith to help speed up play.
BTW (and seriously), I noticed the announcement in the Minuteman Thursday about this blog and think it's a great idea for Fairfield but IMHO the title "What We've Heard" is a bit bland - how about something a bit spicier? Just a thought.
